Get the words out of any TikTok
TikTok is where trends, product reviews, recipes, explainers and sales pitches are born, but it is a terrible place to read. Captions flash on screen for a second, auto-captions disappear when you scroll, and there's no way to copy what someone said. If you want to study a hook, quote a creator, repurpose your own videos or translate a script, you need the text in front of you.
PullSubtitle reads the caption track TikTok attaches to a video and gives it back as a clean, timestamped transcript. Many TikToks carry auto-generated captions, and creators can add or edit their own. When a video has no caption track at all, paid plans can switch to AI speech-to-text and transcribe the audio directly, so you still get the script.
Every result also shows the video's description, creator, publish date and duration. Paid plans add plays, likes, comments, shares and saves, the creator's follower count, an engagement rate, the sound used and the full hashtag list.
How to get the transcript of a TikTok video
- Open the TikTok in the app or on tiktok.com.
- Tap Share, then Copy link. On desktop, copy the URL from the address bar.
- Paste the link into the box above. The TikTok icon appears when the link is recognised.
- Optional: choose a language if the creator published captions in more than one.
- Optional on paid plans: leave AI if no captions switched on.
- Press Get transcript and the script appears below, ready to copy or export.
Short links from the app (vm.tiktok.com or vt.tiktok.com), full links with the @username and video ID, and links copied from the TikTok website all work. You don't need a TikTok account, and the creator is never notified.
On your phone
Copy the link in the TikTok app, switch to your browser, open PullSubtitle and tap Paste inside the input. The transcript is easy to read on a small screen and the Copy button grabs the whole script at once.
Original captions versus AI transcription
There are two ways a TikTok transcript can be produced, and PullSubtitle labels which one you got.
Original captions
If the video has TikTok captions (auto-generated or added by the creator), we return them exactly, with the original timings. This is fast, works for videos of any length and usually matches what you see on screen. It's available on every plan, including Free.
AI if no captions
Plenty of TikToks have no caption track: older uploads, videos where the creator turned captions off, and clips in languages TikTok doesn't caption. With AI if no captions switched on, PullSubtitle sends the audio to speech recognition only when no captions exist. Videos up to two minutes are included for 1 credit. For longer videos, turn on Long-video AI (Starter and Pro), which costs 3 credits per started minute.
AI transcripts come back as text without line timings. If you export SRT or VTT from an AI result, timings are estimated by spreading the words across the video's length, and the tooltip on the download button tells you so.
What creators and marketers do with TikTok transcripts
Reverse-engineer hooks that work
Pull the scripts of ten top-performing videos in your niche and read the first two lines of each. Patterns in hooks, pacing and calls to action jump out on the page in a way they never do while scrolling.
Repurpose your own videos
Turn a TikTok into a caption for Instagram, a YouTube Shorts description, a blog section, an email or a thread. Starting from the transcript saves rewriting the same idea five times.
Add accurate subtitles when re-editing
Download SRT and drop it into CapCut, Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve when you remix, translate or repost a video. Correct the odd word instead of typing the whole thing.
Research products and trends
Brands and agencies collect transcripts of product reviews, unboxings and "TikTok made me buy it" videos to see which claims, objections and features people talk about. The CSV export makes it easy to tag and count themes.
Translate and localise
Copy the script into a translator, then use the original timings to build subtitles in another language.
Accessibility
A readable transcript helps viewers who are deaf or hard of hearing, and anyone who wants to follow a fast-talking video at their own pace.
TikTok data included with every transcript
TikTok performance numbers tell you whether a script is worth studying. Here is what comes back:
- Every plan: description, creator name and handle, profile link, cover image, duration, publish date and play count.
- Paid plans: likes, comments, shares and saves; creator follower count; an engagement rate calculated as (likes + comments + shares) ÷ plays; the sound title and artist; the full hashtag list; and the caption language TikTok detected.
- Pro: the Comments tab loads up to 100 top comments with like and reply counts, exportable to CSV, so you can see what viewers asked, praised or pushed back on.
Exports in JSON and Markdown carry this metadata with the transcript, so a folder of research files always shows which video each script came from and how well it performed.
Batch mode for TikTok research
Studying one video tells you a little; studying fifty tells you what works. Batch mode on paid plans lets you paste a list of TikTok links, one per line, and PullSubtitle works through them in order. Starter handles 10 links per run and Pro handles 50.
Each finished row shows the video title and word count, and you can open any of them to read, copy or export. Videos with no transcript are marked and don't use credits. Combine batch mode with the CSV or JSON export and you have a research dataset in minutes instead of an afternoon of copy-pasting.
Troubleshooting TikTok links
If a TikTok won't load, check these first:
- Private or friends-only videos can't be read. The video has to be public.
- Deleted or region-blocked videos return a not-found message.
- Photo carousels (slideshows) have no speech, so there's nothing to transcribe unless they include a voice-over.
- Music-only videos often have no captions and little speech for AI to pick up.
- Profile links aren't videos. Open a specific video and copy its link.
- Live streams aren't supported; use a saved replay or clip instead.
Remember that empty results don't use credits. Credits are only used when a transcript actually comes back.
Privacy and responsible use
PullSubtitle doesn't need your TikTok login, doesn't download or keep the video file, and never interacts with the creator's account. If you're signed in, each transcript is saved to your private history for as long as your plan allows (3 days on Free, 30 days on Starter, 90 days on Pro) and you can delete any entry whenever you like.
Use transcripts for learning, research, accessibility, commentary and repurposing your own work. If you want to republish another creator's script, credit them and ask permission where required.
